After living in London for six years, the Swart Grossman family moved back to the United States, but not in the conventional way. Instead of finding jobs, enrolling in schools and buying a house, they decided to hit the road and live in a recreational vehicle for year, traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada.

While home-schooling, or RV-schooling, their two sons, ages 12 and 7, for the past three months, the family has put 9365 miles on their Winnebago motor home and traveled through 15 states and two Canadian provinces. The children have become junior rangers at 11 national parks and have seen sights from polar bears in Manitoba to elk during mating season in the Rockies.

"After six years living as ex-pats in London, our boys didn't really remember the U.S. So when it became clear we needed to move back to the U.S., we decided to throw caution to the wind, and good sense out the window, and have an adventure," said Wendy Swart Grossman.
